3rd Session, 5 years ago ...

My Uncle, God Bless his generosity & all around general Awesome-ness, just hooked me up with a new film scanner.

So I've finally been able to bust into all my old film negatives from when I very first started to learn photography.

Now it's glaringly obvious that there's allot off with every kinda technique here. As the title states though, it's from my very eariliest stabs at, well, everything.

I am 100% "self-taught" ... so its beautiful & painful to know that I've been making massive fk ups for the past 5 years with this, but I've loved every second of it & I wouldn't trade 'em for nuthin'.

This piece though ... it's not about "my" photography at all. It was the room. Susan's room. Susan's the one who showed me what photography could be & encouraged me to take a completely fearless pursuit to it.

Her bedroom had the most amazing *Light* shifts that I think I've ever seen one room have. Everything in it sometimes just seemed to glow & lift & breath with the breath of God.

It was so incredible & quite & clean. Very much like her.

Whenever I could, I'd sneak in one of my crazy Friends into this very seriously scholarly home ... pull the sheet of plywood out that I had stashed in my room ...

And then I'd try & shoot every roll of film that I had or could get my hands on right on the spot. Not havin' ah friggin' clue what I was doing.

I gotta say that those first couple years were probably the greatest of my life. {So Far. }

That ... & I've been hella missing Nicole recently, who this image is of. She was a wonderfully gifted & brilliant Dancer that I met at De Anza.

She totally fell in love with what I was trying to be able to do & she busted her butt hella hardcore for my Art for years before we had to part ways ...(because of College & jealous Boyfriend/Girlfriend issues) ...

Stumbling across this image tonight brought back a flood of epic memories ...

Where ever you are you Two ??? I love you much & I owe you more than I could ever possibly express.
